​Nyctophobia is a thrilling physiological horror game that challenges players to confront a terrifying SCP that preys on their deepest fears. The game takes place in a neighborhood where players must navigate through the darkness and uncover the mystery behind the strange occurrences.

Roles

Game Designer

  • Collaborated with the team to generate innovative ideas.

  • Heavy playtesting and iteration. 

  • Created narrative for house five which involved the teleporting lady and assisted in sharing ideas. 

  • Incorporated fear design into the game. 

  • Worked within Jira Sprints.

  • Team Communication and guidance.  

  • Created Weekly build of the game and reviewed playtesters' feedback. 

  • Actively assisted the team with various features and consistently offered help to team members.

 Lead Programmer

  • I oversaw task assignments, tracked hours worked, ensured deadlines were met as a team lead, and kept the team motivated using weekly stand-up meetings. 

  • Developed inventory system with item database and usage functionality.

  • Scripted and fine-tuned all of the game's scary sequences for all levels.

  • Developed the AI systems for the game, adding depth and challenge to the gameplay.

  • Set up an autosaving saving system that worked with level streaming.  

  • Created various interactable events within the game.

  • Optimized game performance using Unreal Insights to maintain a minimum of 60 frames.
